Nationwide Roundup Attorneys
Many People Who Used the Weed Killer Roundup Have Developed Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. If You Did, Too, We Can Help.
You’re likely familiar with Monsanto, the agricultural giant at the center of more than a few industry controversies over the years. The brand doesn’t exist anymore—Monsanto was acquired by Bayer in 2018—but its impact lingers. Popular weed killer Roundup was one of the company’s inventions, boosted by its later release of Roundup-proof seeds. These seeds are now widely used by American farmers who want to be able to widely use weed killer without threatening the growth of their crops.
Roundup isn’t just sold to farmers, though. You can purchase the product to use in your yard or garden at home. What the company doesn’t tell consumers is that Roundup’s active ingredient, a chemical called glyphosate, may cause cancer among those who are repeatedly exposed to high amounts. There’s no scientific consensus on the threshold that makes Roundup dangerous, but many who used the product for personal or professional work are now receiving diagnoses of Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL).
A cancer diagnosis is always scary, even when (as with NHL) the prognosis for most patients is positive. Getting cancer can impact your ability to work or spend time on your hobbies. It also comes with a financial cost, even for those with good insurance. These are the reasons our team fights for patients like you to receive compensation. If Bayer refuses to admit its product might cause cancer and warn patients, every person who is negatively affected has the right to file a lawsuit. Our experienced toxic exposure lawyers can help you and your loved ones navigate this process.

Monsanto and Bayer Likely Lied About Roundup’s Risks
Despite the International Agency for Research on Cancer, a part of the World Health Organization, declaring glyphosate a probable carcinogen, Bayer continues to claim Roundup is perfectly safe for use. They cite a lack of evidence for the claim. However, analysis of the data from Roundup studies do suggest the weed killer could increase someone’s chance of developing Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma by up to 41%. Further, as one researcher found, the lack of evidence wasn’t a mistake. After her study was published, she was subpoenaed, summoned before a judge, a representative of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), and the lawyers in her workplace.
This is not the only time the company’s behavior has been suspect. In one recent lawsuit, lawyers uncovered emails between company execs and an EPA official. Not only did the emails uncover a conversation where the EPA official promised to “stop another agency from looking at it [Roundup],” but another official admitted to ghostwriting scientific papers for publication by actual researchers. It’s clear Monsanto, now Bayer, does not want people looking too deeply at Roundup.
Roundup and Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
Though the company will seemingly do anything to hide the truth from consumers, our attorneys will keep fighting for people who have developed Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma after Roundup exposure. As much as Bayer might like the pretend, the evidence is not on their side. They have already lost three high-profile lawsuits and negotiated settlement agreements for another 30,000 plaintiffs rather than fight the case in court. In addition, more than two dozen countries and various locales around the U.S. have banned or restricted its use.
What Is Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma?
Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma is a cancer of the immune system (white blood cells are also called lymphocytes). It can affect multiple parts of the body but often develops in the lymph nodes. NHL has multiple subtypes, some of which are more aggressive than others.
Symptoms and Diagnosis
While some of the symptoms NHL patients experience are common to many diseases, others may tip you off to the nature of your disease. The Mayo Clinic names its common symptoms:
- Swollen lymph nodes in neck, armpits, or groin
- Abdominal pain or swelling
- Chest pain
- Difficulty breathing
- Night sweats
- Unexplained weight loss
Those who think they may have NHL can go to their doctor for tests including a physical exam, blood and urine analysis, imaging, and other tests. If your doctor does find signs of NHL, they will also tell you a stage—I through IV—that explains how advanced the cancer is.
Treatment for Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma
Thankfully, NHL is relatively treatable; between 2009 and 2015, 3 of every 4 patients were still alive 5 years after their diagnosis. Depending on the stage, location, and type of the cancer along with personal factors, your doctor may recommend treatment including:
- Radiation therapy
- Bone marrow transplant
- Biological drug therapy
Sometimes, multiple treatment methods may be combined. Your doctor can talk you through the process and help you decide what is the best option for you.
