Jim Hartle
Attorney
Jim has handled a wide variety of cases as a versatile trial lawyer. Before he began his legal career, Jim Hartle lived in Rochester, New York, where he attended Brighton High School. He then went on to earn his undergraduate degrees in Politics & Philosophy and History from the University of Pittsburgh in 2010, where he graduated magna cum laude. Moving to Austin, Texas, Jim Hartle then earned his legal degree from the University of Texas School of Law in 2013. During his time in law school, Jim served as a Notes Editor on The Review of Litigation, worked on the Executive Committee of the Pro Bono in January Program, and as Chairman of the Board of Advocates. Jim was also the Student Attorney in the Criminal Defense Clinic, which is where he was first exposed to client advocacy in high-stakes situations.
Before joining Shrader & Associates, L.L.P., Jim worked for more than 4 years in the downtown Houston office of a well-known international law firm. While there, he cut his legal teeth on million (and sometimes billion) dollar disputes. Jim joined Shrader & Associates so he could put his legal skills to work helping people who want a lawyer with both the human touch needed to understand the cost of their suffering and the technical ability to fight for justice on their behalf.
But justice is not just Jim’s goal; his track record proves that it is a result he achieves regularly. Jim holds one past success particularly close to heart. It came when his client, a doctor, won millions after his business partners pushed him out of their business without just compensation. While the experience was trying for the doctor, the result was that an ugly chapter in the doctor’s life ended on a high note.
Much of Jim’s legal experience has dealt with complex commercial disputes, spanning from contract cases to business divorces to fiduciary litigation. He also helps individuals suffering from high-profile personal injuries, including sports injuries. Jim’s primary professional goal is to bring justice to people who have been harmed by those who act without concern for the rights of others. He is passionate about advocating for the rights of the wrongfully injured and he is committed to providing the injured and their families with the skilled representation they need and deserve.
